SSC named 2006 Recycler of the Year

2006-06-01- Bellingham, WA. – (May 31, 2006) The Washington State Recycling Association (WSRA) has named Sanitary Service Company “Recycler of the Year.”  The award was announced at the association’s annual conference banquet, held this year in Spokane on May 23rd.   SSC was awarded “Recycler of the Year” in the business primary category for their FoodPlus! and "Food to Flowers" programs that collect compostables from homes, businesses and schools, and for running their fleet of 60 garbage and recycling trucks on biodiesel.  "This is a great acknowledgement,” said SSC Co-Owner Paul Razore.  “Thank you to all our recycling customers, local government officials, business partners and, especially, to all the employees of SSC.  We couldn't have won this award without you!”  The programs were recognized for their role in helping reduce pollution and disposal costs in the community, creating new jobs, supporting renewable fuels and reusing local materials.
